Instagram icebreakers in detail
Instagram icebreakers are the suggested questions someone sees when they open a direct message conversation with your Instagram account, before typing anything. Organizers and promoters set up to 4 of them, each 80 characters or less, and write the automatic answer Trybe sends when the question is tapped.
The point is to answer the questions you get every week without touching your phone: Where do I get tickets? Is there an age limit? What is the dress code? What time do doors open? The person taps, the answer arrives right away, and your inbox stays for the conversations that need a human.
Icebreakers are configured in the Instagram DMs section of the dashboard, once your Instagram Business account is connected through Meta's official API. They work alongside comment-to-DM rules: rules react to comments on your posts, icebreakers greet people who come to your inbox on their own.

Questions organizers ask
What is an Instagram icebreaker?
A suggested question shown to people who open a DM conversation with your account before they type. Tapping it sends the question, and Trybe replies with the answer you prepared.
How many icebreakers can I set?
Up to 4, each 80 characters or less. Each one has its own automatic answer.
What should I put in my icebreakers?
The questions you answer most often: where to buy tickets, door time, age limit, dress code, how to get on the guest list. Keep the answer short and include what to do next.
What do I need to use icebreakers?
An Instagram Business account connected to Trybe through Meta's official API. Icebreakers are set up in the Instagram DMs section, next to your comment-to-DM rules.
Can I change the questions before each event?
Yes. Edit the questions and answers at any time from the Instagram DMs section; the change applies to new conversations.
What is the difference between icebreakers and DM rules?
Icebreakers greet people who open a DM with you on their own. DM rules react to comments on your posts and reels or replies to your stories, and send a DM with a button. Use both.
