What is Pre-sale sign-ups?

Pre-sale sign-ups let organizers and promoters collect interested fans before tickets exist. Turn on Pre-sale on an event and the event page shows a sign-up banner instead of tickets, telling fans that tickets aren't live yet and inviting them to sign up to be the first to know when they drop; the event card on Trybe shows Pre-sale, Sign up. Fans leave an email address and/or a phone number and give consent to hear from you. Each sign-up is added to a list named Pre-sale: your event name in Community, so on launch day you send the announcement by email or SMS to people who already asked for it instead of going on sale from zero. A Pre-sales section on My Page lists every upcoming drop for your followers. The event overview shows sign-ups, page views, emails captured and phone numbers captured while the pre-sale runs, and once tickets are on sale, how many sign-ups matched a purchase. Pre-sale also works on a Launch for an event ticketed elsewhere.

How it works

  1. 1

    Turn on Pre-sale

In the event settings, switch Pre-sale on. Tickets are hidden and a sign-up banner takes their place.

  2. 2

    Share the page

Post the event link or your My Page; the Pre-sales section lists every drop.

  3. 3

    Sign-ups fill a list

Every email and phone number lands in the Pre-sale list for that event in Community.

  4. 4

    Announce the drop

Turn Pre-sale off to put tickets live, and send the launch campaign to the list.

Questions organizers ask

How do I collect sign-ups before my tickets go on sale?

Turn on Pre-sale in the event settings. The event page then shows a sign-up form instead of tickets, and every sign-up lands in a Pre-sale list in Community.

What does the fan see during a pre-sale?

The event card reads Pre-sale, Sign up, and the page shows a banner saying tickets aren't live yet with a short form for an email and/or phone number. After signing up they see that they are on the list.

Where do the sign-ups go?

Each event gets its own list in Community named Pre-sale: your event name. You can send an email or SMS campaign to that list or use it in a segment.

How do I announce the drop to the people who signed up?

Create an email or SMS campaign and pick the Pre-sale list as the audience. Emails are free and unlimited for organizers hosting events on Trybe; texts use tokens.

Can I run a pre-sale for an event that sells tickets somewhere else?

Yes. Create a Launch for the external event and turn on Pre-sale, or create a Launch from scratch as a sign-up page and attach the ticket link later.

Can I see whether sign-ups turned into sales?

Yes. The event overview shows sign-ups, page views, emails and phone numbers captured during the pre-sale, and once tickets are on sale, how many sign-ups matched a purchase by email or phone.
