Targeted sends

Choose exactly who receives a campaign: an event's participants, your subscribers, a list, contacts from a city or a saved segment. Trybe removes duplicates and skips anyone without consent.

What you get

  • Target participants of one event, subscribers or all contacts

  • Use lists, including pre-sale sign-ups and imported files

  • Reach contacts from a specific city or country

  • Duplicates removed across audiences, non-consenting people skipped

  • Save the audience as a segment for the next send

What is Targeted sends?

Targeted sends let organizers and promoters choose exactly who receives an email or SMS campaign instead of blasting the whole database. When you create a campaign, you build its audience from any mix of sources: all contacts, subscribers of your page, participants of a specific event, a list you control (including the Pre-sale list of an event and CSV imports), contacts from a location, or a saved segment such as Recent attendees or Engaged subscribers. Trybe counts unique recipients, removes people who appear in several sources, and skips anyone who has not consented to marketing on that channel, with a warning so you know how many were left out. For SMS, the count is split between North America and international numbers so you can see the cost in tokens before sending. Once the audience is right, save it as a segment and reuse it, or come back after the send and target the people who clicked but did not buy with a follow-up.

How it works

  1. 1

    Start a campaign

Choose Send Email or Send SMS and open the audience step.

  2. 2

    Add your sources

Pick participants of an event, subscribers, lists, contacts from a location or saved segments; combine as many as you need.

  3. 3

    Check the count

Trybe shows unique recipients, how many people were skipped for missing consent, and for SMS the cost in tokens.

  4. 4

    Send or save

Send the campaign, and save the audience as a segment so it is ready for the next one.

Questions organizers ask

Can I email only the people who bought tickets to one event?

Yes. Pick Event participants and choose the event; only its ticket holders receive the campaign. Use the Event update purpose if the message is transactional, such as a door-time change.

Can I combine several audiences in one campaign?

Yes. Add participants of two events, a list and a segment to the same campaign; Trybe merges them, removes duplicates and shows the number of unique recipients.

What happens to people who never opted in?

They are skipped and Trybe tells you how many. Marketing campaigns only reach people who consented to email or SMS from you; Event updates to ticket holders are transactional and reach every buyer.

Can I send to people in a specific city?

Yes. Add contacts from a location to the audience, or build a segment with city, country or event-city rules in Segments and pick it when you send.

Can I reuse an audience?

Save it as a segment when you create the campaign. Segments are live rules, so the people in them update as your data changes, and you can send to them again from the segment row.

Does targeting cost anything?

No. Audience selection is part of every campaign. Email remains free and unlimited for organizers hosting events on Trybe, and SMS is charged per part in tokens whatever the audience.
